The Battle is in the soul

Episode 18

Our topic for today is-The Battle is in the soul
In this Episode we are going to delve further into the process of drawing our rights,
privileges and position as children of God from the spiritual into the physical realm; this
time with special emphasis on the soul, because the battle of living in the reality of our
renewed spirit is actually in the soul. Remember that the soul includes the mind, the will
and the emotions.
The soul is the critical part in this process of bringing the promises of God and our
identity in Christ into reality. The spirit cannot make direct contact with the body and the
physical realm. The soul is in between and in contact with both our spirit and our body
and the rest of the physical realm. The soul is like a switch that we have to turn on to
allow the spirit to flow. It controls the body and our actions so whatever instruction the
soul gives to the body, the body obeys it. Anger, hatred, love and joy are emotions of
the soul but they are manifested in the physical realm by corresponding actions.
We cannot over emphasize the fact that spiritual growth is determined by how much
your mind has been changed by the Word of God and whether your mind is gradually
being aligned with your spirit.
If the soul opens up to the spirit and allows the mind to be renewed, the life in the spirit
will flow through the soul into the physical. If the soul switches off and does not allow
the mind to be renewed, the body and outward life would remain in its former state. So
the soul is the dictator. The Iife of God cannot flow into the physical realm if the mind is
not renewed. A son cannot act like a son if he believes in his mind that he is a servant.
As we saw in the story of Gideon in Episode 16, a person cannot have victory in a war if
he believes in his mind that he is too weak to battle with the opposite side. You can’t
start working on your anger problem if your mind assures you that you have a right to
get angry anytime someone says something negative about you.
//Until you allow the Word of God to transform your mindset to come to terms with the
fact that God loves you unconditionally according to Romans 8:39, you cannot have a
loving relationship with Him. Because it is not possible to have a loving relationship with
someone who you are not sure of their love; someone who is barely tolerating you as
some of us feel about God or someone who gets angry with you anytime you miss it.
//A lot of people invite the Holy Spirit into meetings and gatherings. But I don’t do this,
because I am convinced that the Holy Spirit is with me all the time because the Lord has
clearly said to me-I will never leave you nor forsake you. And I know He does not lie. He
says-when 2 or 3 people are gathered in my name, I will be there in their midst.
Because my mind has been renewed to His Word that He is always with me, I no longer
pray for His presence.

We are instructed to renew our minds in Romans 12:1 so that we can be transformed in
our thinking. But it’s because Christians are not meditating on the word of God and
renewing their minds to come into agreement with the mind of Christ that on a daily
basis we encounter matured, born again sons and daughters of Almighty God who
believe that diabolical persons have superior powers over them and therefore can harm
them or place a curse on them. This is why some Christians visit white garment
churches. I am not denying the existence of evil and evil men. I am saying that when
you come to an understanding of who Christ says you are; when you meditate on
Revelations 12:11 and receive a revelation of the efficacy of the blood of Jesus by
which we overcome evil; and the power of the Holy Spirit to keep you from harm. When
you internalize all of God’s promises of protection, the eyes of your understanding will
grasp the truth that He who is in you is greater than all the diabolical persons and evil
men in the world.
The word of God tells us that Satan is a liar and the father of all lies. But Satan would
have you think that God is a liar. He tells you that you are not good enough, that you
cannot succeed, and that you do not deserve the love of God contrary to the Word of
God.
In between these two opposites is your soul. This is where the spiritual battle is fought.
The winner is determined by whose side your soul leans on. Therefore, your soul must
be anchored on the Word of God. If your soul is anchored on the activities and
philosophies of the world, you will never come to terms with who you are in Christ and
walk in victory.
It all boils down to the renewal of the mind. The Word of God in you controls your
thinking and transforms YOUR LIFE. We are hindered from living spiritual lives by
minds that do not allow the spirit to flow through it into the physical realm.
90% of the problems confronting us would be solved if our minds were renewed.
But it takes conscious effort, dedication, and faithfulness to renew the mind. And while
the new birth happens in an instant, the process of the renewal of the mind lasts all of
our lives. Daily we learn something new and our minds come closer to the mind of God.
Brethren if you are just going to give God a couple of hours a week, your mind will not
be renewed. The Word of God cannot be implanted in your soul. You might know it in
your head, but then it is the engrafted Word of God in your soul that transforms you
from the inside. It’s the Word of God in your mind that changes the way you think and
transforms your life.
