Why did God Create Us?
Episode 2
Our conversation today is on the topic – Why did God create us?
From the Book of Genesis we can see that God was not content with the animals, plants and other things He had formed. His heart yearned for something more. He longed for a being like Him with whom He could be intimate and have fellowship with. And so addressing Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in Genesis 1:26, God said “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness…”. God created us as spiritual beings like Himself to experience relationship with us!
In Revelation 4:11, John reveals that the reason why God created man is solely for His pleasure! That scripture reads: “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
And in Isaiah 43:21, the Lord proclaims: “The people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.”
God created you and I as the object of His love and affection. So no matter where you are; no matter what circumstance you find yourself facing, always bear in mind that God’s primary reason for creating you and I is to honour Him and to worship Him. Before they fell, God enjoyed the intimacy of walking with Adam and Eve in His Garden.
So when you are working so hard to acquire wealth; to build your career; to build a family or even to work for God, if your ultimate purpose is not to honour God in that, then you are not aligning with His purpose for creating you.
Did you get that? Whatever you are doing with your life; the end purpose should be to worship and honour God.
How far is your life aligned to this expectation of God? In your business and quest to achieve, do you quietly push God to the side? Take some time to dwell on this.
